Acidophilus – Lactobacillus acidophilus bacteria, also called “friendly bacteria”

Alterative – blood cleanser and purifier

Analgesic – Pain relieving property

Antacid – Substance that neutralizes acid

Anthelminthic – Substance that destroy worms

Antibiotic – A substance that inhibits the growth of microbes such as bacteria

                      viruses, yeasts, amoebas)

Antipyretic – A substance that counteracts fever 

Antiseptic – A substance that checks the growth or action of microorganisms

                  especially in or on living tissue

Anti-spasmodic – A substance that prevents and relaxes muscle spasms 

Aperitive – A substance that stimulates the appetite

Aphrodisiac – A substance that enhances sexual libido

Astringent – A substance that has a constricting or binding effect

Carminative – A substance that relieves gas and gripping 

Chlorophyll – The “green” content in plants, it is something in nutrition to absorb

                           toxin, and is the ultimate source for organic sodium 

Cholagogue – Substance that promotes the flow of bile

Cod Liver Oil – Natural oils from cod fish which contain essential fatty acids and 

                             vitamin A, D

Demulcent – A substance that soothes tissue 

Diaphoretic – A substance that promotes perspiration

Diuretic – A substance that promotes the flow of urine

Emetic – A substance that is vomit inducer 

Emmenagogue – A substance that facilitates and regularizes menstrual flow 

Emollient – A substance that reduces inflammations and irritations

Evening Primrose Oil – Oil from the seed of Evening Primrose, it is in gamma 

                                          linolenic acid, the natural source of essential fatty acid

 

Expectorant – A substance that promotes the expulsion of mucous from the

                        lungs and throat

Febrifuge – Like antipyretic, a substance that reduces fever

Galactogogue – A substance that promotes lactation

Hemolytic – Substance that destroys red blood cells 

Hemostat – Substance that arrests the flow of blood 

Hypertensive – Substance used to increase blood pressure 

Hypoglycemant – Substance that causes a reduction in blood sugar level 

Hypotensive – Substance used to reduce blood pressure 

Laxative – A substance that promotes bowel movement

Lithotriptic – A substance that helps eliminate kidney stones

Montmorillonite – Clays found in lakes used as nutrition to replace missing trace

Mydriatic – A substance that enlarges the pupil 

Nervine – A substance that calms the nervous system

Oestrogenic – A substance that influences female sexual functions

Oxytocic – A substance that induces the contraction of uterine muscle

 Sialagogue – A substance that stimulates the flow of saliva to aid digestion

 Stimulant – A substance that increase the body’s energy, and promotes blood     

                       circulation

 Stomachic – A gastric stimulant

 Synergistic – Two or more substance combined together to increase the function 

                           of each individual substance

 Tonic – A substance that builds or increases the function of a system of the body

 Vasoconstrictor – A substance constricts blood vessels

Vasodilator – A substance that dilates blood vessels

 Vermifuge – Like Anthelmintic, a substance that expels worms

 Vesicant – A substance that causes the skin to blister 

Vulnerary – A substance that promotes the healing of wounds
